1853

EN

The song tells the story of a man whose name is forever etched in infamy as one of the most terrifying and brutal serial killers in the history of the world. Luis Alfredo Garavito Cubillos was a figure marked by extreme cruelty and violence, earning him the nickname "The Beast of Colombia." He was convicted of at least 142 murders—though some estimates suggest the number of victims could be as high as 600. To this day, remains linked to Garavito continue to be discovered across Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. Arrested and sentenced by a Colombian court, his first conviction amounted to a staggering 1,853 years in prison. What must happen in a human mind to commit such atrocities? Where is the boundary of humanity? What could possibly give birth to a monster in human form?

These questions echo in the track "1853."
